Killed in the Line of Duty
Special Agent Walter Edward Snyder, May 9, 1948, during an arrest of a drug trafficker in Munich, Germany. Suspect sentenced to death and later commuted to life without parole.
Special Agent John Albertson, May 9, 1970, during an arrest of a drug trafficker in Okinawa, Japan. Suspect sentenced to fifteen years in prison.
Special Agent Elmer Martin Heggen, July 23, 1973, killed in a plane crash while traveling to Fort Leavenworth to testify in a retrial of a court-martial that had been overturned on appeal. The soldier's case was dismissed after Special Agent Heggen's death.

Special Agent Norman Emmett Larson, September 24, 1973, killed in an auto accident after returning from a field office briefing on a sensitive investigation.
Special Agent James C. Mayo, September 18, 1987, killed in an auto accident in Osage County, Missouri, while enroute to his office after completing a polygraph on a murder suspect. The other driver was at fault and ran an intersection striking a government vehicle he was operating.
Special Agent Dirk Miller, December 12, 1985, killed in a plane crash over Gander Newfoundland while returning from duty in the Sinai.
